December 2022 Holiday Party
Our ladies enjoyed food, fun, friendship, and football during our December party at the home of Robyn Tholen. Teams played “Movie Trivia” and “Name that Tune” with prizes awarded to those having the most correct answers. We enjoyed watching most of the game there and got home in time to celebrate the Chief’s win. In addition, all members received a new WOW tote bag. |
December 2021
We had a fun and festive Holiday party at Jeanne Lueder's home. There was delicious food, games, prizes and Christmas carols. We also donated over 300 items (warm socks, gloves and under clothes) to Operation Breakthrough. It was heart warming to see the kindness and generosity of the Women of Weatherby (WOW)!! A very Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year 2022! |
February 2021 - DIY Chocolate
We had a fun and "sweet" virtual meeting this month! We enjoyed an excellent presentation and demo from Carol Regan about making your own chocolates. She shared various techniques on melting and tempering chocolate and made chocolate ganache, truffles and dipped strawberries. She shared lots of recipes and tips for making delicious chocolate treats. Recipes and notes are available here. |
November 2020 - "Drop and Sip" Event
One thing we love so much about this community is when we ask for something, you always deliver! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to all those that stopped by and dropped off items. We collected 350 food items, $460 cash, PLUS $240 donated by Women of Weatherby (WOW) to make an even $700, divided evenly to SPEAC (Parkville pantry) & St. Therese Pantry! This will be such a blessing to those in need over the holidays. You all are amazing!! |
September 2020 - Virtual Zoom Gathering
We held our first ever virtual zoom for our September 10 kick off. We would have much rather had an in person gathering but it was still fun getting to know each other. We'll have one more virtual event in October then hopefully we'll meet in person in November! |
Generous Donations
WOWza!! We recently presented two generous cash donations to SWAT for the Homes for Homeless Vets ($1250) and Synergy Services ($1000). We also donated a total of 80 purses stuffed with goodies to Synergy. This was from the monies raised at our Purse Extravaganza this past July. Thanks to all that gave your time and finances to support these two outstanding organizations! For more information, visit the Synergy website. Serving with Synergy Thanks to all that attended our November gathering to hear more about how Synergy Services is making a difference in the lives of adults and children in Kansas City. We'll be planning a visit to Synergy in January so stay tuned. Also thanks for all the Thanksgiving donations to Harvesters. It will be a blessing to families during the holidays! |
